So Far So Good

Well I have spent a couple weeks now going through the exceptional materials(week 3 of my 8 week plan). I am trying to absorb as much as I can, which isn't easy at my age, and learning quite a bit. Just little things that make all the difference in the world when it means making some money.

I started my first campaign about 5 days ago although maybe a little premature cause as I go along with my tutorials i recognize things that I did wrong. But at least it didn't cost me any money.

Anywho, I'm real excited about the future in affiliate marketing and made my first web page with the FREE site builder that comes with my Wealthy Affiliate Membership.

New Developements with WA

Well I am pretty excited about getting my first Squidoo Lens up reviewing the Wealthy Affiliate experience.

I also produced a video about WA that is pretty ducky but not bad for my first try. I am trying to get it uploaded to UTube as I write this but it is taking quite awhile so I can't put the link up for you but I will ASAP.

You can take a look at my Squidoo page right here. Leave a comment on what you think about it.

Is Wealthy Affiliate A Scam.....Part 2

Well my first week with Wealthy Affiliate has been pretty busy for me. The amount of information and number of resources made available with my membership is almost overwhelming. I really had to stop and think about the fact that this is going to be a marathon not a sprint to success and just take the learning slow and do it right. I am convinced that if I do things here the right way I am going to be very successful.

As of this posting I have not made a sale but I haven't lost any money either(hooray). I have built two lenses on Squidoo...Wealthy Affiliate Review and Weight Loss Review

Written and posted an article on GoArticles, placed an Ad on USFreeAds ,as well as spent lots of time checking out all the learning tools on my Wealthy Affiliate site. At this point it takes me a little too much time to create and post these thing but with practice I will get better. My plan is to post two such ads or articles a day for the next week!

I am really excited about moving forward and building a very profitable business with the help of Wealthy Affiliate University.

Is Wealthy Affiliate A Scam?

So since losing my job in April of '06 after 10 years service I found myself not only looking for employment but in a search of who I was and what I wanted out of my life. At my age then (58) I was convinced that it was all but over for me. In possesion of no particular skills or professional experience, I was at a loss for where I was going next. Adding to my misery was the sluggish economy and the reluctance of those doing the hiring to even consider me for a position for whatever reason. Some of it due to the great number of available candidates, my lack of experience specific to their industry, and as much as I hate to say it, my age.

Like most of us I started looking hard at the home business industry. The biggest drawback for me was that I was in panic mode by the time I started to investigate the possibility of starting a home business, so my judgement was somewhat clouded. I did not have the luxury of having an income while I dabbled in the work at home arena to find my niche. Therefore throwing money at every offer of spectacular money making systems was the norm.

What mostly did I find out there? Well unless this is your first time investigating programs that offer incredible money making systems you already know.... we refer to them as scams. Now I'm not sure that is technically what they are, but let's take a good look at why they just aren't as advertised.

1.Everyone of these "systems" are the same thing.

All these so called experts offer to sell you their secrets to success that are like nothing else on the net. Unfortunately for us they are all selling an affiliate marketing concept that is a common everyday practice by marketers every day. each one of them just creates their own unique spin when presenting it in their sales letter. If you look hard enough you can even find the same exact pitch on different sites.

2. Pretty bad quality.

The e-books you end up buying rarely live up to expectations. Not only are they of poor quality and sloppy, but most have not much more than basic marketing info since they have accomplished their goal by selling you the book. You can actually learn more by studying how they got you to plunk down your hard earned money on their junk!

3. No support.

Most of them don't even offer you any support and those that do don't really mean it because you can't get any.

4. Endless upgrades.

Every time you turn around you have to buy something else to "really be successful". Upgrade, upgrade, upgrade...enough already.

5. Refunds.

Here's a real surprise....try to get someone to give you a refund on this junk. Not gonna happen!

So finally after throwing countless dollars at these rip-offs, I have come to my senses (kind of slow ain't I).

Affiliate marketing is the way to make money at home but the problem for me and most is that we don't know how. What we need is a comprehensive set of guidelines, tutorials, and competent support. No small accomplishment right? Is it possible that I have found all this and more with Wealthy Affiliates? Or is it just another scam for me to fall for?

At first glance Wealthy Affiliates is very impressive and looks to offer everything I will need to become successful as an affiliate marketer. The web site is professional and the multitude of resources is almost mind boggling. The starting point is actually an 8 week course on affiliate marketing. They provide keyword tools, website builder, and group forum. The membership fee is all the investment with no upgrades to get access to any of the resources available. There is much, much more but too much to detail here. Right now it looks very promising and I am very excited to get started and finally make some money at home. I will use to use this page to follow my progress as I go forward. I hope to have some very good entries in the future , so stay tuned.

My opinion at this point is that Wealthy Affiliates is NOT a scam and offers some real value in building a long lasting, profitable home business.

As the name implies they do offer a free affiliate program as well.
